Lost and Found
The new lost and found policy: Any item that we place in the lost and found drawer should have a date attached to it. After 30 days we'll discard the item. I'm not sure if we want to put the clothing articles in a box free for people to take or whether we should just toss them. Thoughts?

2 Policy Reminders
Here are two policy reminders that we need to keep in mind:
1. We cannot accept book donations at this branch. We are in the process of weeding materials from the shelves and either selling them through our book sale or sending them down to CMS to be withdrawn / sold at the book cellar. We do not have the capacity to take in any additional materials. We can advise people to bring their donations to the main library for the book sale.
2. The bulletin board, table, flyer/brochure case is intended only for non-profit organizations that are not selling products or services. We cannot provide advertising space for businesses.

UHLS Workshops
We've received some flyers for UHLS workshops that are available free to UHLS member library staff. I have posted them on the bulletin board in the back but I want to make sure that everyone sees/is aware them.
Two of them that have recently come through are particularly relevant to this branch. One workshop is about establishing parternships with local schools, etc. and the one that we received today is a workshop on understanding digital downloads.

Craft Cart
I think the holiday craft cart was a pretty good success. I think it's also been good because it seems to be helping to keep the kids occupied with something to do after they finish their homework.
It seems they've decided to keep it going with adding a new winter craft this month. I'm thinking we can also add to it as we go; keeping it tied into the current seasonal/holiday theme. The kids seem to like to have more than one craft to do.

Kids DVDs
I went through some of the kids DVDs and removed those that haven't circulated well. As with the rest of the collection, rather than send these back to Main, I've stamped them withdrawn and placed them on our books for sale shelves for $1. So please refer parents and kids to the DVDs that are on the table or over in the back on the bottom shelf of the wooden bookshelf.

Staff Pics
So now that we've taken all of the holiday books down, Kevin and I were thinking we'd replace the empty shelves next to the reference books with staff pics. There are four shelves, one for each of us. I figure we can put movies, music, books, whatever you want. So next time you get a chance, put a couple things on your shelf, and we'll see if the stuff circulates...
